Learners’ Testimonials

Testimonial of an American student

Melanie is a great teacher. I learned a lot during the 15 classes. I realized that I have difficulty retaining the information that I learn, the older I get. I feel like I struggled in the class, but Melanie assured me that this was normal. She said the best thing to do was to keep practicing and speaking Italian whenever I can. Melanie is highly qualified and enthusiastic for teaching, she presented the material in a way that was easy to follow. She assigned homework to follow up on what we learned in class that day, and reviewed the answers to be sure we understood. I would recommend this course to others interested in beginning to learn the Italian language.

In this language course you will learn the four basic skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) in the context of major themes in Italian culture.  By the end of the course you will be able to describe people, events and situations, both in the present and the past, and you will have acquired the necessary vocabulary to communicate about everyday situations.

What will you learn?

  • How to communicate in a variety of social situations, such as introducing yourself, talking about daily activities, describing what you do for work, writing and reading simple texts, such as giving and getting directions, asking about the weather and telling time.
  • Basic grammatical structures, such as articles and nouns, adjectives, present and past tenses of regular and irregular verbs.
  • Italian culture, including daily life, cuisine, meals, cafes, etc.

I really loved this class I think for me it was a little slow paced but I think that was due to the rest of the students being of a much older age.

Testimonial of a Spanish student

I just finished Italian A1 class and I love it! Melanie (la mia insegnante)is very patient and made her class very attractive. The handouts and exercises that she provided help a lot to learn the language because they have examples of everyday life situations. I’m very happy with this class and I’m looking forward to continue with the next one. Thank you very much.
